CURRENT ISSUE
Sorry, no new issues

I'm currently not publishing any new articles as I'm focusing my efforts on making serious progress on my upcoming book about prototyping.
But now that I have your attention, I have a favour to ask. Please send me a quick mail with a few keywords about your expectations of a book on prototyping (the address is henrik.olsen@guuui.com).
I’m also looking for cases, prototype examples, stories about good and bad experiences with prototyping, ideas – essentially whatever input you might have for the book.

Messy interfaces for repeated use and efficiency |
Ryan from 37signals has written an interesting post on the trade-off between populating interfaces with many features to improve efficiency versus distributing them over more screens to make them easier to digest. Referring to Edward Tufte, Ryan explains the dilemma as a question of having information displayed adjacent in space or stacked in time. He concludes that while screens with low complexity gives the eye less to filter through, separating elements onto different screens reduces the need for navigation and makes it easier to move attention from one element to another. More magnetic interface widgets |
Not long ago, GuiMags brought the magnetic interface widgets for whiteboard prototyping back. Now a competitor, GUIMagnets, has entered the marked with magnets that seem to be a bit cheaper (if you can do without the case that comes with GuiMags). Links:
