Redesign Jakob Nielsen's site

Now this is fun! Win fame and prizes:

"…create a redesign of Jakob Nielsen's useit.com. Design a usable, intuitive layout and navigation, organize the content with usability in mind, and create a work of art which still reflects the importance and influence of Nielsen's work."

Sadly, Jakob states, that it's "highly unlikely" that he will use any of the designs.

Interface Hall of Shame revived

The good old Interface Hall of Shame from iarchitect.com has been gone for a while, but I just found it at a new location. The Interface Hall of Shame is an "irreverent collection of common interface design mistakes". New entries are from June 4. 2000 – but it's still an educational experience.

Magnetic interface design toolkit

Building prototypes with this tool might not be ideal, but it could be useful for workshops and brainstorms - if it's big enough. Anyway, here you can buy your very own Magnetic Interface Design Toolkit – maybe just for the fun of it.

Dilbert Flaw Marketing

Dilbert: "My design will meet all of our customers' current and future needs."

Marketing: "That's no good. They'll never need to upgrade."

Dilbert: "Please don't ask me to put flaws in my design."

The pointy-haired boos: "Flaws would work."

Amazon.fun

In case you haven't read Mark Hurst's interview with Amazon.com's Maryam Mohit, here are two examples from the interview proving that designing e-commerce sites doesn't have to be boring.
